The Library is open Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. --3:00 p.m.
Access to the Library
Students visit the library for one 40-minute class per week. Library lessons incorporate one or more of our library & technology strands:
Inquiry & Information Fluency
Love of Reading
In addition, the library is open to students during school hours to return books, select books ,or pick up books on Hold any time his/her teacher allows.
The borrowing limit for grades K-3 is a maximum of three (3) books.
For the first few months, Kindergarteners will check out one book at a time until they have learned the routine. Then they will enjoy a maximum of three (3) books for the rest of the year.
Students may borrow up to three (3) books even if they have overdue books.
Students may borrow up to three (3) books even if they forgot to return books.
All books are due after two (2) weeks but students are welcome to return books earlier each week during scheduled library class if they choose.
Books may be renewed once(1) for a total of four (4) weeks.
If students forgot to return all three (3) books, they may choose books and put them on Hold. When they return his/her books, the Hold books will be waiting for them for up to one week.
If there is a book that a student wants but it is currently checked out, the librarian will put the student on the Waiting List for the book. He/she just has to ask!
Library Overdue Notices will be sent as a friendly reminder email every Monday late afternoon so families can help find and return library books. Families that do not have an email will receive paper notices.
There are no late fees for overdue books.
There is a replacement fee for lost or damaged books.
